The development of a database of films from cinema exhibition spaces in the municipality of Juiz de Fora is the most recent initiative of the Minas é Cinema project. At first, it was fed with information from seven movie theaters that, throughout the 20th century, were managed by the Companhia Central de Diversões. They are: Auditorium, Central, Glória, Palace, Popular, Rex and São Matheus.

Collecting this information was only possible thanks to the tireless work of Waltencir Parizzi. For decades, he was part of the company's staff. In the second half of the 1990s, after his retirement, he donated to the Central Archive of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) two large albums containing advertising pamphlets for most of the films that were shown between 1944 and 1957, in the seven cinemas mentioned.

Between 2022 and 2023, the Minas é Cinema team digitized and processed this material. On the project website, the Waltencir Parizzi Collection gained its own page. There, advertising flyers can be found in PDF format. To facilitate consultation, they were divided by year (and, within each year, by month). From this, the database was created.

For the future, we have three goals. The first is to fill the gaps that existed, between 1944 and 1957, in the programming of the seven cinemas managed by Companhia Central de Diversões. After all, not all advertising pamphlets produced at that time were preserved by his former employee. The second is to map the films shown in these cinema exhibition spaces before 1944 and after 1957. Finally, the third is to include the other cinemas that existed in Juiz de Fora, whether they are located in its central region or in the neighborhoods. To achieve all these objectives, visiting the city's archives and searching old periodicals will be of great importance.
